Opportunities for local students
Grand Rapids Community Foundation has supported local students on their higher education journeys since 1945. Each year we award more than $1 million to hundreds of students pursuing a higher education. We want to support your success!
General Application
Most Community Foundation scholarships are awarded through the General Application process. Complete one application to get matched to scholarships created for students just like you. Apply between December 1 and March 1.
Scholarships for Kent County Students
Scholarships are available for students
with a wide variety of backgrounds, GPAs, areas of study and levels of
education. Learn more about the scholarships you are considered for through your application.
Apply between December 1, 2024 - March 1, 2025.
Select scholarships are available to students who meet specific criteria such as pursuing a specific major or being affiliated with an employer such as Meijer. These scholarships require an additional application.

In addition to our traditional scholarship program, Challenge Scholars is an initiative of the Community Foundation in partnership with Grand Rapids Public Schools that is increasing educational opportunities for students in the Union High School classes of 2020-2028.
