About Kittleman & Associates and the leadership transition process

Kittleman & Associates is a national search firm that specializes in the recruitment of CEOs for grantmaking foundations and public charities. It is the nation’s first executive search firm to provide recruitment services exclusively for nonprofit organizations. A committee of current and former Community Foundation Trustees and volunteers will lead the process to select finalists. The Board of Trustees will make the final selection and offer to our next president and CEO, which is expected later this year.

Kittleman conducts searches for executive directors, presidents and CEOs of nonprofit organizations across the country, representing 95% of its practice. The firm has vast experience in the nonprofit sector with a focus on equity in all of its searches. In the past two years, 58% of Kittleman’s CEO placements have been women and 40% have been people of color.

The search will be led by Cory King, president and CEO, and Susan Cowen, senior principal, in partnership with the Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Cowen, who focuses exclusively on CEO searches across the nonprofit sector, brings 25 years of experience in the human services sector to the search process.
