Recently, Grand Rapids Community Foundation received a Full Partner Designation from Partners for a Racism-Free Community. For this designation, the Community Foundation had to demonstrate that it met six standards that contribute to a racism-free organization.
The standards include: leadership engagement; internal policies, practices and processes; external collaborations and partnerships; contractor, supplier and vendor practices; client, congregation, customer and marketplace practices; and measurement and results. The review process is rigorous.
“Staff learned of this designation at a local event and expressed their desire to pursue it. Being welcoming, inclusive of all people and racism- free is part of our organization’s DNA, and we live it at all levels. We are committed to making our mark in the community around these issues and are absolutely honored to receive this designation,” said Diana Sieger, president.
