For the eighth consecutive year, Grand Rapids Community Foundation has been named one of “West Michigan’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA). This annual award recognizes exceptional places of employment and the Community Foundation was also awarded the prestigous Elite award, which is only given to 11 companies of the 101 companies in the competition. Grand Rapids Community Foundation was named Elite in the small business category. "We are thrilled," said Diana Sieger, prseident of the Community Foundation. "We work hard at making the Community Foundation a great place to work and this award is further validation of what our employees tell us about the workplace."
“We know that honoring and supporting the staff team at the Grand Rapids Community Foundation is important. Balancing work and home life can be a challenge and we find that reducing the stress of that balancing act leads to phenomenal results and pays off in our outreach to the community,” said Diana Sieger, Community Foundation president.
“Best and Brightest Companies” practice innovative strategies and represent best practices in human resources in sectors as diverse as automotive, insurance, hospitality, communications and nonprofit organizations.
According to the MBPA, an independent research firm evaluates each company’s entry based on key measures in various categories. They include Communication, Community Initiatives, Compensation and Benefits, Diversity and Multiculturalism, Employee Education and Development, Employee Engagement and Commitment, Recognition and Retention, Recruitment and Selection, Small Business and Work-Life Balance.
