Grand Rapids Community Foundation recently elected Arend D. Lubbers to a four years term as a Trustee. Dr. Lubbers served as president of Grand Valley State University from 1969 to 2001 and was the institution’s second president. A native of Holland, Michigan, he is an alumni of Hope College and Rutgers University. Before leading Grand Valley State University he taught at Wittenberg University and served as President of Central College in Pella, Iowa. He currently holds the title of President Emeritus, Grand Valley State University.
