What Marilyn does:

Marilyn is responsible for the leadership, management and strategic direction of the Development team. She serves as a primary contact for donors and professional advisors, using her 22 years of experience at the Community Foundation to provide support and information on charitable, planned giving options. Marilyn holds the CAP (Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy) designation from the American College of Financial Services, which she earned in 2015.

What she did before:

Marilyn’s non-profit leadership experience spans nearly three decades. She spent five years with the American Cancer Society first as executive director of the Kent County Unit and later as officer of gift planning for the State of Michigan. Prior to the Cancer Society she was executive director of the Grand Rapids Clinical Oncology Program. Marilyn has served as a volunteer for numerous organizations throughout her career including the University Club of Grand Rapids, East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation, East Congregational Church, Humane Society, Camp Blodgett and St. Andrews School. Marilyn graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA degree.

When Marilyn’s not working:

She’s focusing on family and friends, in particular her husband Garry, daughter Macie and her French bulldog, Babette. Her hobbies include reading, gardening and staying physically active
