What Ashley does:

Ashley serves on the senior leadership team and helps determine the strategic direction for the organization. She oversees all strategic communications, public relations and marketing initiatives for the Community Foundation and works to ensure organizational messaging is delivered through an equity lens.

What she did before:

Ashley led communications at Michigan State University and the national headquarters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has also worked as a communications consultant for a host of non-profits and as a freelance writer for several publications, including Essence Magazine and The Grand Rapids Press. Ashley received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Grand Valley State University and a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University.

When Ashley isn't working:

Ashley lives for traveling, relaxing at the beach (her “happy” place), shopping, decorating, blogging, volunteering and spending time with her friends and family.
