Centennial Campaign

A New Century of Service and Impact

For generations, Grand Rapids Community Foundation has worked to understand and respond to the evolving needs of our community. We are proud of our past successes and the infrastructure we have built, together with our communities, for creating positive change. Through our Centennial Campaign we dug deeper into our aspiration: to cultivate a community where there are equitable pathways to success for everyone.

Building a Stronger West Michigan

Since 1922, the Community Foundation has successfully brought partners together to make a positive difference. From supporting social services during the Great Depression to fighting AIDS in the 1980s, equalizing access to post-secondary education in the 2000s to supporting residents during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have a track record of caring for our community and creating lasting change.

2022

The Community Foundation celebrates 100 years of service and impact in Kent County.

Early supporters of the Centennial Campaign pledge to create equitable pathways to success—for everyone. Campaign volunteers provide connections and valuable feedback.

2025

The Centennial Campaign launches with $29 million raised!

Support from many partners put us over the top of our $30 million goal!

Campaign Donor Partners

We are so grateful!

Since 1922, the Community Foundation has brought people together to make a positive difference. More than 1,000 donor partners invested in our second century of service and impact through the Centennial Campaign. We are proud to recognize their gifts, which are building equitable pathways to success for everyone in Kent County.

Community members inform our work

As Campaign Chairs, Win Irwin, Dr. Brandy Lovelady Mitchell and Dr. Juan Olivarez provided strategic direction to this campaign. We are grateful for the many community members who also advocated for the Centennial Campaign and the Community Foundation. See all volunteer partners here.
